Hi,

The kiwi plant I have has a bunch of little white fuzzy ovular pod-like things on the underside of the leaves and on the vine. See photo. Has anyone seen this, know what it is and what to do about it? Confused

Thanks,

Laura

Welcome to the forum.

I don't see the photo, but sounds like aphids.

They aren't moving though...kind of like cocoons. Kind of large for aphid sacs... Sorry I can't figure out how to get he photo small enough to work on here...

I agree with Jafar that it sounds like aphids, but I'd love to see a picture.

When you post, a whole bunch of icons appear.  One box looks like a tall mountain and a small hill with a moon over it.    (You can tell I'm a genius IT professional).  It says Insert/edit image.  That's the one to use. Click on it.

I tried that before but something comes up with a "source" box. If it's an image I have on my computer, how do I find the source? I also tried uploading attachments but the photo is too large and I wasn't able to make it small enough...

This is way over my head too. Sorry. I did it the other way when I posted. I always keep my pictures to medium because then I don't have problems with this sort of situation.

Might be mealybugs and/or their predator the mealybug destroyer.  Some scale insects, like the magnolia scale resemble your description.  And we have an alder aphid in the NW that looks woolly.

Until now you might have got rid of those insects. What was that? It sounds like mealybugs. We are also facing the same issue and after trying out DIY's like spraying a mixture of vinegar and water and using other chemical substance, the problem still exists. We have been recommended to consult the pest control in Elk Grove CA professional to make our garden healthy and productive again.
