Hi Donna,
Sorry there was no response. I am also interested in planting 2 jujube trees. My only experience has been that 6 years ago I bought 2 jujube trees from one green world. They came in the mail, only about 1 foot tall. I thought it was a lot to pay for such a tiny start. I don't know about other catalogs. Then I planted them, did not give adequate deer protection, and the deer ate both trees completely. So it was $60 for what wasn't even a decent salad for the deer 🙂 This time I will try a different catalog, and protect them much, much better.
I did a search on the old home orchard society forum and was unable to come up with anything meaningful.
On the growingfruit.org website there is a thread with over 1000 replies. I have not read through them yet. Maybe that will have something useful.

After poking around for an hour or two reading what I could fine, I settled on HoneyJar.
It's too early for me to give any conclusions. I ordered bare root and didn't actually plant it until after it leafed out. It didn't lose its leaves, but also didn't grow at all. There had been no new root growth at time of planting in spite of it being leafed out.
I'll see what happens in the spring.
Jujubes came in the mail, so I planted them.
These were from Burnt Ridge. They had graft failure for Honey Jar, so it was just Li and Winter Delight. Small trees for the money - I look at it as paying for the genes and starts, as much as for a tree.
About 6 years ago I tried growing jujubes. They were slow and deer kept eating them, then I had an illness and gave up, and they died. This time I planted both about 2 feet apart, sort of like the Backyard Orchard Culture method, for easier care.
i think this could be a marginal climate for them. However, CFRG says they have fruited in our area, more or less.
