I've been looking for the apple variety "Indo" that was used in the Japanese breeding program. The cross Indo X Golden Delicious has yielded several noteworthy Japanese apples, namely Mutsu, Orin Korei and Shin Indo amongst others.
All I've managed to find out about Indo is that it's a 20th Century variety presumably from the Netherlands. Indo is not to be found anywhere, it's not in GRIN and it's not in Botner's collection either. I find this puzzling given that it seems a good breeding stock apple. I was looking for it for my breeding experiments.
Any help on finding this variety would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi - just joined this forum (I was googling for info on Japanese varieties and your post came up) so sorry to be a couple of years late in replying!
The NFC in Britain holds this variety and supplies scionwood - maybe not that much use to yourself with the huge problems of importation, but they often have more information than is shown on the website and might be worth contacting.
