For those who are interested in table grapes, there was a tasting of 35 seedless varieties today, September 9, 2006 at Broadacres Nursery near Broadacres. More importantly, the weather has been so favorable the tasting will be continued next Saturday, Sept. 15. It will be from 10 am to 4 pm. at 9993 Broadacres Rd. NE, just west of I-5, opposite Hubbard. You can get there either from exit 271 or exit 278 from I-5. Mapquest will help you find it.
Additionally, there are potted vines of all the varieties for sale at the tasting.

One hint, if you are planning to get some, remember that this was an exceptionally warm, dry year and varieties ripened well that might not do as well in other years, so if you are an amateur, you might want to steer clear of vinifera varieties like Summer Royal, etc. that don't do as well in our usual cool, wet fall weather.
