Grape enthusiasts:

I am sure I know a couple of the other members here, but am keen on grapes and grape breeding. Wonder if anyone else on this list is into growng more than 'Concord' or the other generic standby's.
My favorite species for playing with in breeding is Vitis Coignetiae, and it seems that I am not alone. The Japanese are getting into it as well.
Sadly, the move towards 'big box' retailing seems to be retrograde in terms of new fruit varieties, grapes included.
Well for sure, there is nothing standard about my hybrids.
One thing I'm really looking for is a seed source for the species Vitis Davidii. Reputed to have one of the best tasting fruits of an Asiatic grape.
Am also into wine making, a good side hobby for a grape grower.
The muscats make a great wine, and even greater fresh fruit.
