Thought I’d let everyone know Peninsula Fruit Club’s Spring Grafting Show is coming up fast. We have almost 400 different cultivars of apple scion wood already logged in, so there will be plenty to choose from. This year we have EMLA 26, BUD 10, and Geneva 969 apple rootstock, OHxF 87 pear rootstock, and a very few (mostly) unknown plum and cherry rootstocks. We also have grafting and other growing supplies, mason bees and blocks, and other plants for sale. Come visit us and add to your fruit collections! The show is March 18th from 10 am to 4 pm at the West Side Improvement Club, 4109 West E Street, Bremerton, WA 98312.

Jean,
This show was just wonderful! Lots and lots (and lots) of top-quality scions, great root-stocks, and some mighty-fine berry plants, too. The Fruit Club volunteers were incredible, too. Very helpful and knowledgeable. They made everybody feel welcome. Reminded me of the the HOS shows when they were in their glory.
I found some of the antique apples I've been hoping to find. One of the experts grafted the Calville Blanc d'Hiver for me. Will be trying the others on my own.
Seems to me like this show (and its companion tasting show in the fall) might be the biggest in the Northwest.
Anybody else get to the show?

Katmendeux, thanks for the nice words about the grafting show. Glad you enjoyed it. Next time you come, please look me up and introduce yourself!
Jafar, it would be great to see you at one of our shows. Shaun was up here to do apple ID at our fall show last year. Some years it’s just Lori and Bill H. and me.
