Grafting plums

Hello All,
Would I be correct to assume that a cross pollinator for a plum tree could also be grafted to the other plum???

You are correct, though I can't say from personal experience which would be the best varieties for high production.

You can, of course, graft or bud the other variety to the same tree if you only have space for 1 tree. Here in the PNW, most varieties give you so many that you might want to space out your varieties over time, or you get broken branches from heavy fruit set. Remember the rule: Asian plums on Euro stock ok, Euro on Asian not compatible long term.
