Google just launched a preview of a experimental search tool, so I put it to the test with one of our favorite topics:
http://www.google.com/squared/.....+varieties
Click"Add next 10 items" at the bottom to see more, or type the name of a particular variety in the box to create a new row with details on a particular variety.
Have fun
This is definately cool and I will cross post it into bananas.org
Happened to try this (btw I really do NOT smoke the stuff - I have a Class A CDL) and very interesting!
http://www.google.com/squared/search?q= ... +varieties
Google shopping link - the bomb! and Google images then checking whether or not it is a nursery etc. is another way to find really good rare neato stuff.
Google's picassa web albums!? That is an adventure in my near term future.
Gotta love google and their beta this and that. They have been pushing many envelopes for a long time and force innovation. I remember when they forced yahoo and MSN to stop limiting mailbox size. Anyone who hasn't tried google mail should try it. Best part about it is that it organizes your incoming/outgoing on a subject into a logical conversation and it all stays together. Shows total number and who responded etc. Very useful esp if you are dealing with customers! It is hard to describe and best to actually use it.
mail.google.com/mail/signup - and at the top of regular google homepage is gmail link.
Got some good input already from bananas.org on this cleaver google tool.

This is what was said so far -
This is the link the above post refers to:
apple varieties - Google Squared (working hot link in above)
That is an interesting twist on the wiki concept. Our wiki, of course, is here:
Main Page - Bananas Wiki (working hot link in above)

thx!
So - it was possibly a worthwhile contribution and was apparently not known of yet. kewl! Anyway - it appears that this tool could be used to make a 'quick and dirty' spreadsheet of nanna varieties. It can go out and hunt for the input, and it can be saved, perfected, tweeked etc. after the fact. Now let us see Microsoft try to pull such a cleaver and FREE trick! lol
I knew of our wiki and thought this tool was possibly already part of our wiki. It likely soon will be.
I like the idea of opensource spreadsheets in competition w/Microsoft anyway! They should be cross compatible or easy to export back and forth.
