I admit not being totally organic. But I do have a cat and a dog. And I do have lots of food plants everywhere near the house and otherwise.
I have heard that Borax is somewhat safe. Kinda spendy when mixed up and sold at the hardware store.
Anyway - please advise what YOU do to control those pesky little black ants. They are invading our home big time. I don't wanna nuke the house with poison or spend lots of $. I also want my Pomeranian and plants to be safe and plants to remain edible.
There is no doubt a smart concoction of Borax and whatever... and where to get affordable Borax?
My wife buys some kind of gallon sized ready-to-use bug/ant spray from costco. She sprays all foundation areas that she sees ants climbing around. I think it has a 90 day window of action. Stops them pretty well. I think it is one of those third generation pyrethrins, probably cyfluthrin or some such chemical. We aint scared of chemicals! I even used it on new-planted broccolli transplants that had ants attacking the stems. Stopped them ants cold.
