My apple tree has apples for the first time (well the first time I've let it have apples) and my asian pears look pretty loaded. I'm wondering if I should put on fruit sox, or if it's too late? I have never sprayed my trees (or done much, I got them and then had a baby and am now playing catch up!!!). The apples are bigger than I notice most people put the sox on, but I'm wondering if I should still try it. I haven't noticed any kind of damage, but I don't really know what to look for. I can't access the link to fruit sox either, so maybe they are all out? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks,

Are you trying to stay organic?
If so I would spray with spinosad + surround twice 10 days or so apart and bag after the last spray. Or use spinosad this year and bag next year. If you have coddling moth in your area, they have laid their first hatch eggs by now. Bagging them without spraying will do no good.

Thank you for the responses, I added some picture here of the apples I found damaged. I checked over the whole tree and only noticed three (out of maybe 75?), so I hope I'm not too late for the rest. I did have that spinosad stuff overnighted to me so I can get it on the tree tomorrow, and then hopefully I will be able to get some of the Sox soon too to put on after (I'm in Salem, by the way). Here are the pictures, I haven't found anything on my asian pears themselves, but that leaf pic is from them. A few leaves are like that, but not too many. Thanks again for all your help! I must read my newsletters more diligently and get on the ball next year!
