I think it would be nice to have more categories.

"Apples" could be one... and a "Looking For" sticky could be handy...

Generally this tends to be bad for forums. It breaks up the community of postings.

On active forums, where there is more of a community, categories add order.

Someone should reply to some of the unanswered posts. I think some enthusiastic people join the HOS, ask a question or two, and then leave in frustration. Or perhaps some of us just think that there should be "something more".

Joe, if you agree to be responsible for all posts to a particular new forum, we could probably manage to add one. There are very few legitimate posts that don't get answered; mostly we moderators are attentive enough to reject the off-subject ones as frivolous, and pretty much everything else is responded to by our major contributors. (Viron is both moderator and major contributor, and we all need to send thanks and best wishes his way.)

Besides myself, does anyone believe that the following post was legitimate?

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5005

The poster, being new to fruit trees, was thanking the HOS forum being patient with her... That was on Sept 6th 2011.

I would think that another member would be better qualified to moderate a forum than myself...
