I would like to see an espaliered cherry tree too because I have never seen anything short of upright fruiting offshoots at WSU. Try the following search string: wsu ufo images "matt whiting"

I think there are limitations for all stone fruits on how horizontal is proper to maintain in prunus. They don't have long lived spurs but they do vary in that ability from cultivar to cultivar.
