Wondering if any apple/pear-espalier-tending members in Washington or Multnomah counties would be willing to let us come and take a look at their installation. Basically wanting to see what and how close adjacent plantings are and what the trellis set-up looks like. Doesn't need to be a guided tour - although that'd be nice! A drive-by would work just fine.

The oldest ones I've seen are in Bush Park in Salem, OR. Trained along the top of a stone wall near tthe coservatory, they are at least 50 years old. Worth the trip just for the tree collection on the grounds.

I live just east of Gresham and have two rows of apples and pears between 2 - 8 years old espaliered. If you would like to see them, call me at 503-663-0170. There is also a comerical grower west of Banks who has some older trees. Bay's Farm; 503-324-0261.
