Hello!
I have been searching for a good book about espalier, with no luck. Any suggestions? I know there are plenty of pruning books with small espalier sections, but I haven't found any that deal specifically with training for espalier. I grew up with a small orchard and have done a small amount of reading, and that is about all my experience. I understand the extra time espalier takes, but I've been wanting to do this for so many years. We're planning on "fencing" half of our large front yard with espaliered trees. And we'd like to start as soon as possible. Which leads me to my next question.
Can anyone give me more info on the HOS Fruit Propagation Fair in March? It's just up the street from me and I'll be going to check it out. But I have no idea what it will be like. Will there be trees (or rootstock/whips) to buy or have assembled? If so, how wide is the variety/do I need to request a certain kind? Will there he things like blueberries or currants?
Thanks in advance for any answers to these questions!

Jerilee,
You're right about there not being much in the way of espalier specific publications. Luckily, you can easily glean enough info from the web and this forum to do a fine job starting and growing your own espalier. We have a Belgian Fence composed of 12 varieties of apples on out little urban lot. It was amazingly simple to start and shape.
Good Luck!
