After spending time bagging Asian pears and apples, I have been meaning to set up the nets to protect my blueberries from spotted-winged Drosophila. I finally got around to it today and was surprised to see Duke blueberries already changing color! This plant was a bit slow/small in growth for a couple of years but it seems to be more vigorous this year. My Bluecrop blueberry looks to have a lot of berries this year which I'll be looking forward to eating! Today I spent time staking the branches to keep the berries from touching the ground. Lately, though, I have started to harvest the occassional raspberry.
