Dark leaves on cornelian cherry

I purchased a Cornelian Cherry from One Greeen World this spring. The leaves are starting to look funny, like they are turning black, and they are curling up slightly (that may be the way these trees develop, but the blackness seems funny).

Two possibles. Frost damage or anthracnose.

Wait a while. If' it's frost damage, the new growth beyond the affected leaves will be all right. If not, it's disease. I get a few marks on my Cornus mas, but never anything more than slight cosmetic damage. I have dozens of the trees.

I got that pretty bad on mine. They stopped growing. It motivated me to learn how to make compost tea. I sprayed them 6 years ago and I've had no such problems since.
