Daffodils that naturalise do not have their old flowers taken off them, so how do they manage to flower year after year, and why is it that tulips disintigrate even after lifting them and replanting? :?:

Um, I hate to be a wet blanket, and there are probably folks on this list who know the answers to your questions, but we are way off topic. This is a fruit-growing list; primarily tree fruit. I'm sure there are gardening groups that would be more than happy, and probably better qualified, to answer.
