Okay, this is a little bit off-topic, but technically they do apparently have an edible fruit, albeit with poisonous seeds.

Does anybody know where I can buy a live plant in the Portland area, or alternatively, a reliable mail order source that will ship one that will arrive viable?

Do you require fresh leaves? Looks like there are processed leaves for sale online.

I suppose this would take multiple years to provide harvest leaves from a seed start.

I require a live plant for gift.

Whether it ever produces usable fresh leaves for use in cooking is another matter.

Howdy Jafar,

I know I'm pretty late finding your question here, but if you haven't found a curry tree yet Indian grocery stores sometimes carry them.  Srider's India Imports in Beaverton had them a few years ago.  You can also get the fresh leaves with stems attached at H Mart and maybe try grafting the stem onto a compatible citrus rootstock (I didn't have any luck getting them to root from cuttings).   Good luck!

Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten my post.  Now that its spring, perhaps they will be available someplace like Portland Nursery.

I'll check out the link.

Actually, we may be making a spring break road trip to the Bay Area.  I should check out some nurseries for fruit too.
