Compact & Curl resistant peach found in NE Portland near the Grotto:

Dwarf_Peach.jpg

..by "compact" I mean peaches purportedly selected and bred " Dwarf Peach Tree Varieties " (ie. very short internodes).

Owner who had been on-site recently stated it was purchased at Home Depot, had peach crops, and cared for only with nutrients watered into the ground. Clarified by owner: No sprays what-so-ever.

I will write a letter of request for the name. Hopefully they will help. In the time being any other knowledge as to what this might be or any other ideas on short internode peaches for the PNW would be appreciated.

Inquiring minds want to know.  Perhaps the highest rating of both delicious common fruit and hard to grow in PNWet.

I'm interested.

It's also seen to be without the winter cool season shelters this week. Curl resistant compact un-named at this point cultivar and of no need to be covered. For now at least until the bacterial pseudomonas sets in.

The 'Grotto Peach' turns out to be 'Flory'. Portland nursery gets them in about 2-3 weeks from now.
