Does anyone know where I can buy some budwood? I am mostly looking for apple, but also a few pear and plum. I had some trees that died and re-sprouted which I would like to try and t-bud this year.

Not sure ..but as an HOS Member, I’ve been welcome to contact our Arboretum to collect budding wood…  http://www.homeorchardsociety......arboretum/

Of course, you’d have to check on that…  -- Anyone (around here) know if our Arboretum’s ok with sharing some mature buds..?

usually I just check with Tonia and its ok if you know what you're doing and the tree is big enough.

A week from Saturday is the budding workshop at the Arboretum (along with some other events).  Come learn to T-bud and Chip-bud, if you don't already know.

There will be some budwood provided, and I believe participants will have access to budwood from the arboretum.

There's a $15 participation fee, other events that day are free:

P.S.  Rodney, where are you located?  if nearby, I'm sure some participants on this forum would be happy to share some budwood from their mature trees.  If the timing is good, I've welcomed collection of a stick or two from my orchard.  I'm not interested in mailing anything though.

Any particular varieties you are looking for?

Thanks for the info. I'm down near Eugene. I'm looking for disease resistant varieties, preferably that store well.

I've never actually been to the arboretum. I'll see if I can make the budding class this weekend.
