I have several plum trees and had a broken branch that occurred each week for 3 weeks for 3. I sleep with my window open and can hear the prowling of racoons which my neighbors have not seen here for years. For me the best way to test for racoons is having a few inches of clean water inside a cheap low profile pool. All the food they take gets eaten in the water and the dirty water and footprints will show up in the pool.

John, we had broken branches from Shiro plum  Most of the apples are drooping a lot, as are some of the pears.  Just within reach of deer.

I did prop up one branch with a bamboo pole, but have not got around to it with others.

Potatoes were extra productive this year, but no broken branches on them.
