I think a bush is more likely to result. I have done it before. You want to scrape or slice the lower part of the cutting that will have roots coming out of it. Here the winter is wet. That's when I would plant it here. I don't know what your climate there is like. I wouldn't make the cutting very wide. Straight is better.

Oregon State University has a web page about blueberry propagation with suggestions of cutting size to use, treatments for best success, time of year to take cuttings, and rooting media mixtures.
