I purchased a 5ft. grafted American persimmon for a public project at my church. The stub of the root stock is visible and quite dead. The whole tree is pretty limber, but looks healthy. Is there anything I should do to ensure long life for this tree? Thanks, Anne

That sounds normal. The stub will eventually be subsumed by the scion.
