Is the common pawpaw a worthwhile fruit? A friend of mine says I should try it and I've tracked down a nursery in France that sells it bare root.

Any opinions on any of these cultivars anyone?

Just one thing bothering me, I just found this:

"The pawpaw needs regular watering during the growing season. The soil should be kept moist but avoid waterlogging. "

I hadn't intended to irrigate, we had pretty much no rainfall from June to end August last year, is it worth proceeding if I can't irrigate?
