Apples don't mature

Dwarf apple trees in Southern Wis... I spray them every year but shortly after the apples begin to form, small/tiny dark spots develop on the apples and the apples loose their uniform shape.  The apples begin to turn red early-mid Jun but they never get more than 1 inch in diameter and by the end of Jun nearly all have fallen.  I don't recall the varieties but they are what I would call a full sized apple.  I haven't been able to identify these symptoms via the internet... I appreciate any help you may be able to provide... Thank you

Welcome to the forum merlin,

One thought I had to consider is that apples that have bugs usually drop early.

"June drop" is the process by which the tree culls its own fruit to only develop the ones that seem healthy. It seems that the tree believes that those apples won't make it.  Normally it keeps most of the apples until harvest time.

I would show a picture of the apples on here and let people guess. It's easier that way.
