I have been grating scions onto apple rootstock and they are now sitting in wet peatmoss in the basement for 10 days to allow a callus to form. My question is what to do with them after the 10 days. One site said to put them into a plastic bag in a fridge at 34 degrees until ground is 60 degrees (July in Newberg, OR). My thought is to keep them in an outdoor nursery ( mounded row of peatmoss and soil) for a year and then plant them in the orchard. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
