I was reading this article about some ancient varieties in Almaty, Kazakhstan.  https://www.goodfruit.com/good.....he-making/

The "aport" variety sounds intriguing.

I tried checking on scion-exchange.com but that site seems to be down at the moment.

Have you tried TOC? Almaty is a Kazakh name for apple, I believe.

Would be a good time to reach out to TOC, Shaun has spent the last couple of weeks, since his retirement, updating the inventory list. If they have it, it should be accounted for. I think Shaun is intending to be out at TOC on Wednesday to meet with someone (HOS Alumni) traveling through the area, to see Joanie, mid morning.

They haven't updated their scion list since 2021. It is not on that list. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else, so it must be pretty rare here.
