Hey Everybody!

I am new to the forum and just wanted to say hello. I have been growing and helping friends for about three years now to the point where I can finally start to say I have my own home orchard! I'm not going to lie, the husband thinks my hobby is a bit goofy, but whenever he starts to look down on me I just craft an apple pie that will shut him right up! Glad to meet all of you and I can't wait to get involved!

Welcome aboard, Delia,
I think if we share local traditions we can keep growing and learning. Plus some of the winter or fall conditions might be similar between the two areas. I look forward to seeing your posts.

Hi Everybody,

I'm new here as well. Today, Jan 29, 2011 Honeycrisp apples were $2.79 a pound at Ray's Grocery store in Bandon Oregon.

Do we have a cool hobby hobby or what? Oh yeah, there are nice people here too!

Hi Bob and Welcome,
I noticed organic Gold Rush were the same price. Yes I am growing them. The entertainment value of the tree is all gravy at that point.

Hi John,

Thanks for the welcome. By the way, when I saw the 2.79 a pound honeycrisps I also saw bulk beef top sirloin for $2.67 a pound... I'd much rather grow apples!
