Subj was altered from The acronymn NAVY stands for Never Again Volunteer Yourself
However, there are times when this rule can be bent.
We had the informal officership of 'Catalog Guru' and this was a popular person. They kept the stack of printed/color photo seed and plant catalogs and helped put orders together.
Several benefits to this. For the nurseries they had one catalog seen and used by many. For the members they combined shipping and paid less. Could be win win almost every time.
Anyway - HOS probably already has someone like this. But if not, it might be considered.
The below links are for CHILEAN NUT (Gevuina avellana) which is temporarily out of stock. It is offered as a plant by Forest Farm and other local sources. The flowers are very nice (see bottom photo of second link) As for Chileflora.com I can pick out at least 15 things I would like to try from this site. How about you!?

Beings you probably know the answers about CHILEAN NUT, I'll ask.
Is it an edible nut?
Can it survive the cold and wet weather we have here?
What climate does it hail from?
There must be some reason why the Oregon filbert growers havent yanked out their trees and planted this one!

YES!!!! AND VERY GOOD FOR YOU! I HAVE NOT EATEN ONE OF THESE YET, NOR SEEN THE PLANT LIVE AND IN LIVING COLOR...
Can it survive the cold and wet weather we have here?
YES. IT IS OFFERED BY SEVERAL NURSERIES IN OUR AREA.
What climate does it hail from?
CHILE. A GREAT PLACE FOR OBTAINING REALLY NEATO NEW STUFF WHICH IS WHY I HIGHLIGHTED CHILEFLORA BTW.

THERE IS ALWAYS NATURAL RESISTANCE TO SOMETHING NEW. WE CANNOT, REPEAT! CANNOT FORGET THE IMPORTATION OF NUTRIAS FROM SOUTH AMERICA! LOL

The first hit is the Wiki. It is kinda a WOW plant! Small wonder that they are currently sold out. A nice big bag of these to share with us mere mortals would be way-cool. Most people can easily understand the concept of pseudo wholesale purchases - a-la CostCo... and sharing with friends and family.

It doesn't work for everything, but one of my fav ways to find new sources is google shopping. It is still beta and better hits for sources are found with links from google images. That is how I found this chileflora.com btw.
Please take a look again at the high res image in original posting and note the map of Chile on this and other offerings. There are so so many neato things that WILL grow here for sure. Chile and the west coast of South America is very very diff than here and some areas are very dry, others way wet, etc. Making generalities about Chilean climate would be difficult and foolhardy. However, that is not necessary cuz this site is rather thorough and they say it in plain English for us. way cool. HERE'S TWO EASY GENERALITIES - the higher up the Andes Mountainsides you go... the wetter it gets. Down near the coast - dry dry dry. And also - the higher up the mountains you go - the more cold hardy are the native plants.
Another neato source of superneato neat stuff (sic) (lol) is a place in CHINA that will send - dare I say it again - sure! it's a neato source of superneato neat stuff (sic).
Don't ask, don't tell and don't pursure. No need for arm twisting nor finger or hair pulling neither. okay okay - just ASK and I will TELL!
